"I’m a sculptor with a studio in Liverpool, England since 1993. In 2014 my artistic perspective shifted radically after surviving ‘terminal’ cancer! I stopped working with fiberglass resin as my main medium and focused on more sustainable, environmentally friendly ways of working, particularly re-using plastics by breaking the component parts down to then reconstruct them.

I create large figurative sculptures for public settings, events, and campaigns. My 3D work utilizes thousands of plastic milk bottles and recent commissions incorporate illumination and the option for charitable giving with contactless tap points. I’m also starting to develop ideas re-using other single-use waste items such as bottle tops and crisp packets to explore patterns in nature, microorganisms, and cellular structures.

My large sculptures utilize waste materials and include a life-size Bengal Tiger using over 400 plastic milk bottles for Veolia’s Save the Wild Tiger campaign to the Football Association commissioning a pair of life-size Lions (one of cardboard, the other uses plastics including old stadium seats) for Wembley Stadium, London. I also created The Ships Cat and Rat Mischief, a group of sculptures incorporating 4000 plastic milk bottles for Liverpool City Council’s Tall Ships Festival at the Albert Dock seen by tens of thousands of visitors. I was delighted to be invited to reinterpret itv’s brand identity as part of the year-long itv Creates project curated by Charlie Levine. My ‘itv reindeer’ sculpture was created with plastic milk bottles illuminated with simple white light, featured between all itv programs for a week in December 2019 and again in 2020."
