Natalya khorover

Natalya creates art for earth’s sake and is inspired by plastic pollution, overconsumption and the urban environment. She strives to use materials which would be condemned to the landfill and chooses to use the unusual techniques of stitching and sewing to bring her artwork to life.
Reclaiming and repurposing materials to use in Natalya’s practice has been the rule for nearly 20 years. She meditatively hand stitches and mends vintage linens, and uses her industrial sewing machine to collage and stitch layers of translucent single use plastics which would otherwise contribute to litter pollution. The transformation Natalya subjects them to makes these materials unrecognizable.
